How We Do Art On The Go (A Kwik Stix Review + Giveaway!)

How We Do Art On The Go :: Vintage Kids | Modern World Blog

I don’t know about you, but as a homeschooling family, sometimes I feel like we’re not actually home much!

Life doesn’t stop just because the kids are home – there are still errands to run, groceries to buy, doctors to see, and of course the fun things: field trips, library runs, nature walks, and my kids favorite – those days when mommy calls “uncle” and we go outside to sit under our huge maple tree with a blanket because the weather is gorgeous and we need some fresh air while we’re reading.

In order to be mobile, I have to plan ahead, so that we have all of our essentials ready to go and in a designated spot, so that we aren’t furiously digging for pencils and crayons!  When we’re ready to head outside, one child is responsible for our blanket and the other two get our supplies.

I love being able to take our art supplies outside, but obviously not everything travels well.  Paint, for example. Paint, travel and toddlers are a scary combination.

For that matter, Paint and toddlers PERIOD. It sends a slight shudder into the soul of every mother when their young children want to flex their creative muscles and whip out the brush and water and those primary colors.

That’s why I’m so excited to show you what we’ve found!  The Pencil Grip Co. makes these AMAZING paint sticks, called Kwik Stix, and they’re perfect for our outside (or inside!) art adventures!

Kwik Stix remind me of glue sticks in shape and function, but inside are the most gorgeous colors!

They’re so easy to use – you simply twist and color (almost like a glue stick), but they’re actually tempera paint and they come out smoothly and with such bright colors – more vibrant and intense than any other kids’ paint that we’ve worked with.

The paint does go on thick, but it doesn’t crack on the paper and it dries in 90 seconds!  We made these gorgeous pictures outside with no water, no bulky paint clothes or smocks, no brushes and no cleanup. Win, win, win, win.

Seriously, we put a man on the moon – it’s about time someone came up with these amazing (mess-free) paints!!!

My kids are hooked!  Check out their video below!

Kwik Stix are available on Amazon right now and you can also find them on their website – go take a look! They would make an AMAZING Christmas gift for your little ones (or big ones – these are quite fun to use)!

But it gets even better, because The Pencil Grip wants to offer one of you a FREE 12 pack of their kwik stix tempera paint sets!!!!

Simply follow the steps in the rafflecopter below!  The giveaway closes 12/15 at 11:59pm and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, December 16th! Open to residents of the US only.

DISCLOSURE: I was given a free sample of Kwik Stix in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts, reviews and experiences are uniquely mine.  Post contains affiliate links.
