This afternoon, it was almost idyllic…My oldest daughter was knitting on the couch, my middle daughter was playing with blocks on the floor, building a home for her slinky, (Yes, her slinky. It’s name is Alice.) my son was napping, and Rusty and I looked out over an icy lake, surrounded by snowy woods on all sides as we sipped our second cups of coffee for the day.
Granted, not long after, my son woke up and stole Alice, so the moment was over, but it was amazing while it lasted…
Looking back over this last year, these are the small memories that I want to take with me into 2013…the quiet moments when things are simple and uncluttered.
